GIRLS]” on March 23, 7 PM (NYC)

My play Pure//Love will have a staged reading on Monday, March 23 (7 pm) at the Episcopal Actors’ Guild, produced by Leviathan Lab. It will be directed by Dominique Rider. We did a quick 6 hour workshop earlier in January at the National Black Theatre, where we experimented on how universal (and very specific) the play could be. I’m very excited to continue exploring this play and hopefully you can be witness to the process! The reading will feature Nia Farrell, Nicolette Ellis, David Huynh, Carolina Do, and Jasmin Walker. PLAYWRIGHTS’ CENTER READING OF “THA CHINK-MART” on APRIL 6 + 7, 7 PM (Minneapolis, MN)

Tha Chink-Mart will be part of the Ruth Easton Reading Series at Playwrights’ Center this year. This is my most personal play and the one I want to see produced the most. I’ve been working on this one for the longest and, frankly, ready to see it up. I’m excited to be working with the local Asian American talent in Minneapolis to breathe new life into this play. PLAYPENN READING OF “IMPACT” on MAY 18, 7 PM (Philadelphia, PA)

This reading is NOT part of the summer conference, but a separate one week, 29-hour workshop. The good people at PlayPenn hooked it up and have offered to workshop this 11 actor, 139 page (as of now) play. It’s the biggest and most sprawling play I’ve written so I’m super grateful that they are willing to throw their resources behind this for development. The reading will be directed by Miranda Haymon.
